About myself:

Since I can remember I have felt a deep connection to nature, especially marine habitats. Memories of the ocean’s abundant, colourful, and vivid coral reefs, contrasted by its deep blue depths, have always drawn me back to it. Growing up, I started to understand the complex political, economic, and environmental problems that threaten our world's oceans. This led me to pursue a career, where I had the chance to actively contribute to positive change in environmental issues.

The idea for my project came into existence after a two-month internship at a marine school in Croatia, where I educated adolescents on the inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea. It sparked my joy in sharing knowledge on conservation issues. I believe we can help each other learn more about the importance of healthy ecosystems and our impact on them. There are endless ways to achieve this, but for me, it starts with seeing and understanding what we are fighting for.

The Project:

The project started in 2022 with presentations in Swiss Secondary Schools on marine ecosystems and climate change. My goal is to provide resources and a space for knowledge exchange between people with a scientific background, educators, experts in political and economic influences, activists, and humans interested in learning more about conservation issues.

Qualifications:

I have a bachelor’s degree in biology and environmental sciences from the University of Zurich. Currently, I am enrolled in a master’s program that investigates phytoplankton abundances in Swiss lakes. My free time I spend outside in nature, preferably in and underwater. Diving has become one of my favourite activities, as it provides us with the chance to uncover the hidden wonders of the underwater world. I am also a certified rescue diver, rescue swimmer and currently working on my apnoe diving skills.

To capture the beauty of nature, I use photography and cinematography. Here, I’m drawing upon my artistic background, to emphasize the importance of preserving these habitats and inspiring others to join in conservation efforts.

I have extensive experience working with children, acquired through my roles as a scout leader, internships, and child caregiver.
